A stressed 39-year-old Klagenfurt man who tried to throw his lover off a cliff has been jailed.
Klagenfurt provincial court heard how the man had forced his 43-year-old lover into his car, and driven to an observation platform on Dobratsch mountain in Carinthia’s Villach district on Easter Monday this year and tried to throw her off it.
She suffered serious injuries but managed to escape him.
Judges yesterday (Weds) rejected his claims that he had been under severe stress and had only wanted to make the woman watch him commit suicide and sentenced him to ten months in prison with a further 20 months probation.
Prosecutors have said they will appeal the sentence.
