We have this too. If people shovel snow out of their driveway into the street, they can be fined. In our town, not all the streets have sidewalks, so snow from sidewalks is not that much of an issue. But the people that shovel the snow into the street from their driveways are stupid. It's very obvious where the snow came from because the snow-trail from the shovel shows exactly which driveway it came from.

NO church, of any persuasion, should be granted new planning permission in any established residential area.

Fascinating to see that you have the same problem integrating into Austrian culture as many of the extremist Moslems. If you don't like Austrian culture which includes a strong religious base, you can always leave. It is a privilege to live in the Republic and be part of this community not a right for you to come here and remold the Republic according to your ways.

If one clears a walkway of snow, and someone slips and falls, it is the shovelers fault. If one leaves the walkway full of snow, and someone falls and injures themselve, it is an "act of god". I would think it more prudent not to shovel.

Yes, there is a growing trend in tourism that is off the beaten path. Another fine article on this is here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28393718/ns/travel-tips/

How stupid is this? One shovels snow from the walk to the street...the snow melts and then escapes through a street drain. What is the problem with this? It will happen naturally anyway!

Please caption fotographs you include with a headlined story. I did a double-take when I looked at the UNNAMED, smiling, white-haired man included in the VIH/Belarus article. You see, he looks a lot like Julian Assange and I still don't know who I was looking at. Please take care of these important details! Your readers will appreciate it!f

Please include the date the individual 'most popular stories' were first printed on. The date of issue should show up near the headline. I went to a weather forecast for serious snowfall for Austria...and only in the end did I notice the story came from a date that's already come and gone ! Just a small but sometimes significant logistical cock-up, especially for us seniors.
