Schweinehund
It must be puppy love, because even their owner would be the first to admit it can't possible by physical attraction.
But wild boar Schnitzel has gone hog wild for a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog called Charlie at their farm in Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde, Germany.
Devoted Schnitzel - just eight months old and already 110 lbs - spends every minute of the day with Charlie at the family farm and pines if they're separated.
Owner Heiko Cordt said: "I've never seen anything like it. It's a really sweet relationship, but I'm a bit worried about what will happen if they decide to take it to the next level as there's not much demand for Schweinehunds."
It's not the first case of confused animal love in Germany - last year a swan at Muenster zoo fell in love with a swan-shaped plastic boat lover after she split up with a real-life swan.
The rare Australian black swan called Petra even sparked a flourishing tourism industry.
