Spotted dog
He may have been easily spotted, but Weddy the dalmatian had other ideas when 30 firemen and divers using rescue equipment turned up to save him from an icy river.
The four year old pet - who'd disappeared during a walk with owner Lukas Pfohl, 38 - spent two hours leaping from one ice float to another in the frozen Elbe River in Stade, Germany.
"He thought we were chasing him for a game and seemed to be having the time of his life," said one firefighter.
Rescuers eventually lured the playful pooch onto a makeshift bridge with tasty dog chews.
