Conmen who made more than 500,000 GBP with bogus for sale ads for construction vehicles are facing five years in jail for fraud.

The gang - operating in Minden, Germany - took snaps of real life JCBs and building site trucks and advertised them on internet auction websites as online bargains.

"People handed over substantial amounts of cash and got nothing in return. There are victims all over Europe," said one officer.
