Pimp claim over TV virginity auction

TV bosses auctioning off a teenage girl's virginity could face charges of pimping, it emerged today (tuesday).

The 18-year-old blonde - known only as Miss Spring - is selling herself to the highest bidder through Hungarian telly channel Tabu TV.

Bidding today (tuesday) had reached 58,000 GBP with just three bidders with the hammer due to go down on the sale on Thursday.

But TV bosses have defended themselves against claims that prosecutors are watching the sale to decide on future criminal charges of soliciting or prostitution.

"I do not feel like her pimp," said presenter Mate Kocka, who is arranging the auction.

"Yes, I know, soliciting yourself is a crime in Hungary. But it's classified as a mild breach of the law, and its punishment is only 100 000 HUF (290 GBP).

"Miss Spring knows that too and I suppose she'll pay for it from the sale price," he added.

The original sale was closed down by auction website eBay after the bidding topped 100,000 GBP.

The freckle-faced girl - who claims she has never had a boyfriend and lives in northern Hungary with her mother and baby brother - explained:" I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

"It's just for one night. And I think it's actually quite romantic because the man who pays me this money will be helping to save my family from being homeless. He will be my saviour.

"I broke off the deal with a British guy that had offered 100,000 because he wanted to go too far and get married as well. I'm not looking for a husband - I'm doing this for my family," she added.
