Former Cheeky Girl Monica Irimia is to wed a British tarmac tycoon after the besotted businessman popped the question during a romantic break in Paris, her mum has claimed.
Monica, 30 - who has a massive pop hit with twin sister Gabriela and their single 'Touch My Bum' - is said to be marrying wealthy Shaun Taylor, 35, a graduate of America's exclusive Harvard University.
The one-time star's publicity mad mum Margrit told local media in her Romanian homeland: "He is the heir of a road repairs construction company, Taylors of London."
"He is a very special boy, he goes to all Monica's shows, he bought her many presents. For Christmas he bought her a car," she added.
Monica and Shaun are now said to be house hunting in Rye, East Sussex - where the twins live with their mum - before marrying next year.
Her mum said: "Her engagement ring has a huge diamond in it. So big I'm worried she might get mugged."
Monica's twin Gabriela had a brief engagement with former Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik.
