Dropping Off
Six-year-old Czech boy Jakub Kruzik who fell 25 foot from a third floor balcony at a hotel and landed on a concrete terrace is expected to make a full recovery in an accident that amazed doctors in the southern Croatian town of Gradac at the weekend.
Although suffering from head and chest injuries he is awake, talking normally, and is expected to be released in a few days.
The boy is believed to have sleep walked onto the balcony where the accident happened.

Preparation for Life Ball begins
The preparations of the Life Ball in Vienna are at full blast after delays due to bad weather last weekend. Star guests like Eva Longoria and Carmen Electra are expected at Vienna Airport on Friday.

Kid falls off pony and ends up under car
A seven-year-old child fell from a pony in Kössen, district of Kitzbühel (Tyrol) yesterday (Tues) afternoon. The child fell directly in front of a car and was severely injured.
Schwedenbomben rescue fails
Niemetz, the Austrian manufacturer of the "Schwedenbomben" confectionary, could not be saved. More than 4.1 million Euros had to be transferred to the liquidator until 21 May; as this did not happen, the factory will be sold immediately.

The tax proceedings of the extreme sportsman Felix Baumgartner are still underway. Mr Baumgartner told the Austria Press Agency that he asked the Independent Finance Senate (UFS) to resolve his case.
Woman killed by Vienna tram
A female pedestrian tried to cross a street in Vienna Hietzing yesterday afternoon (Tues) without paying attention to the traffic. She was hit by the tram number 60 and died at the scene.
AT&S to close in 2013
The producer of printed circuit boards “Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik AG” (AT&S) with its headquarters in Leoben, Styria, will close its venue in Klagenfurt, Carinthia (Southern Austria) at the end of 2013. 109 employees are affected.
Record visitor numbers at Salzburg Whitsun Festival
The Whitsun Festival in Salzburg has set a new record of visitors and revenue. Cecilia Bartoli, a popular soloist and the artistic director of the festival, was particularly popular.
