A gang who staged an elaborate fake traffic accident to steal the takings from a phone shop were caught because witnesses remembered them from the 10 rehearsals they'd held before the real hold up.
The thieves - in Zhengzhou, Henan province, central China - knocked shop worker Wang Meina, 50, off her bike with a mini van so they could pinch her bag containing more than 1,500 GBP in cash.
But they were caught when witness came forward saying they'd seen the gang making dummy runs for the heist for nearly a fortnight before they struck.
"People couldn't help but notice. They thought something suspicious must be going on so they wrote down the registration plate, descriptions and some even took photographs," said a police spokesman.
Four men have been charged with robbery.
