Beanpoles Help Mob To Rescue Stabbed OAP From Son

Beanpoles Help Mob To Rescue Stabbed OAP From Son

A beanpole wielding mob saved an old lady from certain death in a remote Chinese township after her deranged son tried to kill her when she branded him "lazy".

The mob ripped the sticks out of the ground and used them to chase the would-be killer, Fu Wang, 30, away from his terrified mother Ko, 57, in Yunlong in east China’s Zhejiang province.

She was running through the streets shouting: "Help me, help me! He is going to kill me!"

Wang works as a security guard at a local plant and although he says he is happy, his mum had told him he was not paid enough. According to police, he and his mother regularly argued about the parlous state of his finances with her repeatedly urging him to get a better job.

"There ensued this terrible row which led to him kicking his mother out in the street," said a police spokesman. "She managed to run back into her home and lock the doors but he smashed the windows and broke down the door.

"So she escaped out of a back entrance and ran down the street. He pursued her with vile threats of death ringing in her ears. He grabbed a kitchen knife before giving chase and repeatedly shouted out that he was going to 'carve' her up.

"He caught up with her on two occasions, slashing her head and hands, but both times she managed to get free and continued running for her life. Luckily her injuries were not so serious."

Astonished eyewitnesses to the flight-and-pursuit formed into a rescue squad and chased the man who was chasing his mother. They cornered him in an alley using the sticks, and called the police, but he was still attempting to stab his mother even as they showed up.

A warning shot was fired into the air, but the would-be killer scoffed: "I bet you don't dare put away the gun and face me man to man."

More officers arrived, he was overpowered and led off to jail. Police praised the civic-mindedness of locals "who almost certainly saved this old woman's life".
