Shock At Sickening Attack On Teenager

Shock At Sickening Attack On Teenager

These are the images of a gang dropping a slab of rock and urinating on a helpless teenager that sparked a vast search in China's internet community to track down the thugs involved.

Police and security officials are investigating the shocking video reportedly shot in the Chinese capital Beijing, which shows youths beating the 13-year-old victim. At one point they are urinating on him as he lies on the ground.

Officials refuse to say if the victim is badly hurt, only stating: "The investigation is open. We do not want to say more at this stage."

The attack took place in the Chaoyang District of Beijing and a video of it was uploaded to the internet on Saturday before being deleted on Sunday.

It shows three youths stripped to the waist, and a fourth filming the attack, slapping, punching and kicking another boy on the head, body and legs in a sustained assault lasting more than five minutes.

Then one boy throws a large brick at the victim, striking him on the body. As well as the video, photographs taken also show the attackers urinating on the boy when he is lying on the ground.

The Ministry of Public Security said it had deployed officials to investigate and asked anyone with information to come forward.

Shocked web users yesterday conducted a "mass online search" to identify and expose the individuals responsible.

After trawling the web for leads, some people claimed that the attack took place at Naixifang Village. Web users identified the youth filming the attack as an eight-grader called Chang Xubao.

Beijing police had not confirmed these allegations yesterday, restating only that an investigation is ongoing.
