Floods Wash Spaceship With Aliens Into Russian Village

Floods Wash Spaceship With Aliens Into Russian Village

Locals in Russia who returned to their homes after floodwaters finally receded were shocked to find this unidentified floating object had turned up in the middle of the village – complete with something alien inside.

From the unidentified metal structure a strange howling and whining noise could be heard, and several of those who had returned to their homes were convinced that the strange device was part of a spaceship.

And it turned out they were not far wrong after experts from a nearby military base arrived at the Malo-Ugrenevo village in southern Russia's Biysky District and confirmed it was an unused section of a Soviet space rocket.

Reassured that although it was a spaceship, it was one from this world, locals together with the military experts then travelled by dinghy to the structure. They found it had been used by two dogs who had scrambled on it to escape being drowned during the flooding.

The pair who were quickly adopted by locals were nicknamed "Belka" and "Strelka" and given food and a place to dry off.

Alex Yaskin, a specialist on rocket engines was called in to give more information about the space rocket section said: "I reassured the villagers that there was no reason to panic, and that the unknown object was indeed a piece of a space rocket from the Soviet era.

"It was in remarkably good condition considering how it was and it was completely safe. We traced where it had been and discovered that it had been sold to a man living further up the river, Evegniy Plahotin. He had purchased it for 25 thousands rubles (430 GBP) although what he was going to do with it remains unclear."

If he does not reclaim it then it will be taken away by salvage experts to be recycled, said local mayor Alexsei Smergov.
