Woman In Shock After Finding Tarantula In Her Bed

Woman In Shock After Finding Tarantula In Her Bed

The mistake of waking up after a night on the town to discover a stranger in your bed was taken to a new level by 29-year-old Czech woman Martina Rulfova after she woke up to find a huge hairy tarantula under the covers.

Martina said: "I had been out with a few friends and from what I remember it was a good night. The next day I was lying in bed on my side and I felt my arm being stroked under the covers, and I thought 'who is that in bed with me'.

"It was a very light, caressing touch almost as if someone was running a feather over my skin."

She said she had pulled back the covers, and screamed in terror when she saw the huge hairy tarantula in the middle of the sheets.

The young woman from Olomouc, a city in south-eastern the Czech Republic, said: "I almost died of fright when I saw this huge fat hairy spider. I screamed and then I leapt out of the bed and ran off."

She called police using a neighbour's telephone after waking up wearing just her nightgown.

Police spokesman Magda Vaclavikova said: "The woman was very upset but we sent an officer trained in animal control to deal with it."

The tarantula’s owner was found after he put a notice up in his block of flats saying it had gone missing.
