Teenage Conmen Branded Heroes With Date Rape Drug Fraud

Polish police have come under fire after they arrested teenage boys who made thousands by selling fake date rape drugs online.

After the news of the boys arrest was revealed in Polish media, there was a public outcry saying that they should be treated as heroes and not as criminals as they have probably saved hundreds of girls from being sexually assaulted by male predators that wanted to purchase the drugs online.

One social media commentator said: "I personally know somebody who was a victim of these sick perverts that use these illegal drugs. As far as I'm concerned these boys deserve a medal for preventing other people from falling victim and they certainly shouldn't be punished."

The date rape drugs which are increasingly being used to render women unconscious are tasteless and odourless and all traces vanished from the body several hours after the victim wakes up.

Only cases where the victim has a blood test immediately afterwards usually result in charges, and the boys came up with the idea after reading about several incidents in the news and deciding that it would be the perfect scam – as none of those who had purchased the drug that was made from flour and water would ever complain.

According to local police hundreds of people had purchased the drug online from the two teenagers aged 16 and 17-years-old from Glogow, a town in south-western Poland. When they arrested the boys, police also recovered 9000 GBP in cash.

A police spokesman said: "They were operating for half a year before we finally got wind of the operation and close them down and arrested them."

The boys were apparently under observation for selling the date rape drug that is illegal in Poland and it was only when officers raided the property that they found out that they were schoolboys, and that the drug they were selling was a fake.

Using a mixture they found on the internet the pair combined flour and salt to create dissolvable pills that look realistic – but had absolutely no effect at all.

Police said that despite the fact that the teenagers had sold numerous packages, there had been no complaints. But they had still committed a crime by selling a product that was a fake, according to detectives.
