In a country of 1.4 billion, getting a blog post to the number one spot on Chinese social media means it has attracted a lot of attention - and that's exactly what this Japanese man did when he turned his shower head into a copy of his girlfriend.
Kiyuu Oikawa, 19, made a face mask copy of his girlfriend and posted the images online where they quickly climbed to the top spot on China’s Sina Weibo social networking site.
The Japanese man posted that having a copy of his girlfriend in the shower was a great way to start the day and he was so proud of the achievement, he even showed the step-by-step process of creating a girlfriend shower head.
But in China, where there is no love lost between the two countries stemming from resentment over wartime atrocities, social media users were lining up to criticise the shower that was branded as a mixture of all the things that were wrong with Japan.
One wrote: "I won't be with my usual horror movie today, check this out instead."
Another added: "All he needs is to do is add red dye to the water coming out of her mouth to complete the effect."
Others expressed amazement that the man found in some way reassuring to have such a spooky copy of his girlfriend in the shower with him saying: "The way he drapes her arms over his shoulders when he's washing his hair is particularly weird."
