Kung Fu Panda Rescues Girl From Thugs

Kung Fu Panda Rescues Girl From Thugs

A man dressed as a giant cuddly panda that used kung fu to rescue a young lady in distress turned out to be her boyfriend who had staged an elaborate ruse to ask her to marry him.

Aleksey Ravkov, 24, had persuaded two work colleagues who his girlfriend Liudmila Shmalova, 23, had never met before to start pestering her on the way to work.

At the same time dressed as a giant panda he was posing for pictures with children near where his girlfriend was being pestered.

It meant he was well-placed when the two started to hassle the young woman, allowing the panda to wade in and - with some nifty kung fu moves - save the day.

He then danced a bizarre dance before he grabbed a bunch of flowers which he handed to the laughing young woman, and then ripped off the fake panda head to reveal his real identity and to ask her to marry him.

The incident that happened last week in Samara, a city in the western Russian province of Samara Oblast, was then uploaded by friends onto Russian social media sites.

And he got what he wanted when she said yes after it was revealed who her panda protector was.

She said: "I had no idea he was in the panda suit. It was a real shock when he took off the mask. One thing for sure is we will never have a boring time together."
