Chemical industry workers to get more from next year

Workers in the Austrian chemical industry are to get high wages next year, it has emerged.

Union officials said today (Fri) they talks ended yesterday with an agreement that around 10,000 employees are to earn 1.35 per cent more from 1 January 2010.

The deal comes just days after Austria’s 170,000 metal industry workers negotiated a 1.45 per cent salary increase from next year.
