New ORF video platform sees one million views

Videos on national broadcaster ORF’s new multimedia platform have been watched more than a million times in the first three days after its launch, it has been announced.
ORF bosses said yesterday (Thurs) the most popular videos on "TVthek" – available at tvthek.orf.at since Monday – were a "Universum" nature documentary about the Weinviertel region and an interview with Natascha Kampusch.
Thomas Prantner, head of the ORF’s online department, added short news programmes like "ZiB24" had also been very successful.
Prantner hailed the new project – which has most of the ORF’s own productions available online for seven days and free of charge – a "big success" which confirmed the demand for time- and location-independent ORF content.
