ChemFreight acquires Logwin's Krems facility

Goods transport firm ChemFreight Transport, Logistik & Waggonvermietung GmbH said today (Tues) it had bought freight firm Logwin’s facility in Krems, Lower Austria, after approval of the deal by the Austrian competition authority.

ChemFreight said the acquisition would improve networking with customers at its Krems chemicals location and make it "an integrated provider of logistics service in goods transport."

The firm, which cooperates with Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), has 38 employees and had a turnover of 131 million Euros in 2008.

The firm ships seven million tonnes of products in the oil, gas, chemical and fertilizer industries annually.
