Hiker killed in crevasse plunge

A 68-year-old Vienna man was killed when he plunged 250 metres down a mountain crevasse yesterday (Weds).
Police said he had been hiking with his 35-year-old son in the Ötscher area of Lower Austria when he lost his balance and fell.
The death came just a day after a 75-year-old hiker died when he suffered a heart attack as he hiked in Salzburg’s Pongau.
