Boy chokes to death in Carinthia

By David Rogers

A four-year-old Carinthian boy choked to death on Wednesday on a small item from a board game that he had swallowed.

Police said the boy, who was in the care of a nanny when he swallowed the item, was dead before an emergency doctor could arrive on the scene.

An autopsy was performed on the child’s body yesterday at Klagenfurt general hospital.

The police have closed the case as one of accidental death.
