A 64-year-old man from Burgenland was hospitalised after crashing his car into a fence.
Lower Austrian police said the man was driving on the Donauufer motorway (A22) in the direction of Vienna when he lost control of his car at around 3pm near Leobendorf in Lower Austria’s Korneuburg district, crashed into a roadside fence, hit a power junction box and sent the car flipping over onto its roof on Saturday.
Firemen had to cut the man out of the car and he was taken by helicopter to Vienna General Hospital for treatment.
Police said he had no driver’s licence.
