Narrow escape as train hits coach
Passengers and a driver had a narrow escape after their coach was hit by a train after it got stuck between railway crossing barriers, yesterday (Mon).
The coach carrying two people was hit after the driver ignored the crossing’s flashing red signal lights in Zell am See in Salzburg’s Pinzgau region.
As the train came hurtling towards them, the passengers and driver jumped out and scrambled to safety moments before the oncoming train smashed into the coach and dragged it 50 metres down the track.
The passengers were not injured, and the slightly injured coach driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
