Drunk driver crashes onto railway track
A drunk female driver wound up on a railway track in Tyrol’s Schwaz district early this morning (Fri) after losing control of her car, police said.
The woman, 26, who had a blood-alcohol level of 2.12 promille, was driving from Strass to her home in Jenbach in the Ziller Valley when the accident happened at 6am.
The woman’s car veered off the road, crashed through a guard rail and rolled 50 metres down an embankment onto the track of the Ziller Valley railway.
Railway traffic came to a stop for more than an hour as emergency services tried to clear the mess. Police said the woman was not injured.
