Body of missing Salzburg man found in river
The body of a man missing since 3 February 2010 was pulled out of the Salzach River yesterday (Sun) near St. Johann in Salzburg’s Pongau region, police said.
A woman out for a walk along the river saw the body in the water and notified police. They said the man had probably fallen into the river and drowned.
In a similar case, the body of a man found in the Inn River last week may be that of a fisherman who went missing in December, police said.
The body was found near the Kirchbichl power plant in Tyrol’s Kufstein district, where the man had probably drowned, police said.
The fisherman went missing just before Christmas after abruptly cutting off a telephone conversation with a friend.
