Man killed by snowmobile plunge

A ski hut owner died Monday evening when the snowmobile he was driving plunged into a stream near Sportgastein in Salzburg’s Pongau region, police said today (Weds).

The man, 50, was returning to the hut at around 9pm after having taken two guests to a parking lot in the valley below when he lost control of the snowmobile and plunged into the Sieglitz River.

The man’s body was found in the stream early yesterday morning.
