Google Street View cars to roll over Austria again

Google Street View cars are expected to drive all across Austria again this weekend as temperatures are expected to rise.

The internet services giant halted its controversial operation during the winter months in Austria to take more convincing pictures of the country’s towns and cities in sunshine for its Street View service.

Dozens of the firm’s cars featuring 360 degree-cameras are reported to currently being parked at a multi-storey car park at Vienna International Airport (VIA).

Data protection watchdogs have criticised Google for its actions, but have so far failed to keep the operation from going ahead.
