Worker dies in building site fall
A 50-year-old worker died instantly when he fell 11 metres at a construction site in Vienna-Alsergrund yesterday (Mon).
Police in the city said today the man was covering a house’s fifth-floor windows with anti-dust protection tarpaulins when he plunged to the ground. The man was already dead when colleagues realised what had happened, they added.
It was unclear whether the man had lost his balance or some part of the scaffolding had given way, officials said.
