An Austrian has been fined for yodelling while mowing his lawn, according to a report.
The Kronen Zeitung newspaper claims Helmut G. was told by a court in Graz, Styria, that his yodelling offended his next-door Muslim neighbours.
The men reportedly accused the 63-year-old of having tried to mock and imitate the call of the Muezzin. The daily paper writes the Austrian was fined 800 Euros after judges ruled he could have tried to offend them and ridicule their belief. The Muslims, whose nationalities were not revealed by the report, were right in the middle of a prayer when the Austrian started to yodel.
"It was not my intention to imitate or insult them. I simply started to yodel a few tunes because I was in such a good mood" the man told the newspaper today (Mon).

Thank you Anna Nym for the additional info. As usual, there tends to be more to the story. However, I still find it odd that the man doesn't have the freedom to make noise during the midday.

When it comes to purchasing an enletrocic yodeling pickle, I have requirements: the device has to be pickle shaped, it should be enletrocic in nature, and it needs NEEDS to goddamn yodel. Further, I prefer the design be realistic, but not *overly* realistic, lest the item be accidentally ingested or placed in a clear bottle of garlic brine. This product meets all such specifications, so I've rated it highly. One caveat: although the cartoon yodeling pickle on the packaging has limbs, wears Lederhosen and holds a stein of Germanic ale, the *actual* yodeling pickle does not. Not a deal breaker for me, but might be for someone else.

Eh? This is madness! When did we start handing down decisions against a defendant on the bais of what he COULD have done, rather than what he DID do?? What ever happened to the burden of proof of having COMMITTED an unlawful act? Considering that yodelling by sheep herders is a long-standing and historical practice in Austria, perhaps we should all go in hordes to Muslim countries, and turn the tables by attacking their own long-standing and historical practice of yodelling the Mosque call and make similar Applications to their Courts. Would that outrage the Muslim population? You bet it would - they would all be offended by it. Oh! I forgot - one small problem - Muslim countries don't allow infidels to emigrate in hordes. Talk about the height of hypocrisy and double standards. When will the Socialist left wake up and stop ruining our Western Culture with its over-blown, narcissistic sense of humanitarian rights. They are selling our Western culture downstream to intolerant, anti-humanitarian, non-western minority groups.

Are the judges in Austria lacking intelligence? People can claim anything....its for the court to "do justice". The judge made a ruling....if people dont like it its a complaint against the Austrian judicial system and not against the Muslim family!

How can it be possible that this man is fined because of what he might have intended? I wonder, would the judge have imposed the same fine on the Muslim neighbor if the man had said the call to prayer 5 times a day offended him! Is Islam the new Nazis?

That was said very well. Control of femals to a great extreme is a despicable thing done by far far too many muslim men.

Another European just grabbed his ankles for the sake of diversity. When will Europe learn that Jean Raspail's "The Camp Of The Saints" is more than true now? It's scary because the same thing is about to happen over here in America.

Aww, my post must have been too long, so here the last bit which was cut off: (...) Anyway Mister G.s case was dismissed and got into a so-called Diversion which is similar to a out-of-court-solution. The fine he had to pay was for annoying his neighbours on purpose even after a police officer intervened and -of course- for restricting police officers orders! Well, that´s all - have a good day now to all folks over the big lake(s). I will go out now, enjoy the snow, drink some Glühwein and eat a Schmalzbrot :)
