Austrian Airlines spellcheck mishap

The online copyeditor for Austrian Airlines will be getting a slap on the wrist after it was revealed that the English version of their website is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors.

Mistakes were even discovered on the homepage of the English version of www.austrian.com in a search carried out by the Austrian Times. On the 'Flight Status' tab on the homepage the copy reads "please choose your desired aiport".

Other pages of the website mistakes include similar errors such as the word 'transtation' instead of 'train station' and asking disabled customers to inform them 'on their needs' rather than 'of their needs'. In a mere twenty minute search, the Austrian Times was able to find almost a dozen similar errors.

And fans of Do&Co food might be dismayed to find where they will be eating their gourmet meals, as they are available "on Vienna Airport only".

When the errors were brought to the attention of Austrian Airlines, spokesman Wilhelm Baldia said: "We are sorry for any mistakes within the English translation of our website an we are working on correcting those mistakes."
