Amy Winehouse exhibition in Vienna

Personal items belonging to late musician Amy Winehouse will be going on show in Vienna this week, as part of an exhibition designed in collaboration with her brother Alex Winehouse.

The exhibit has come to Austria on tour for the first time from the Jewish Museum London where it was shown last summer. "Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait" starts today at the Jewish Museum Vienna and items on show include a suitcase full of family photos, including photos of Amy's great-grandparents after they immigrated to England from Belarus.

Other objects include her favourite guitar, a list of her favourite songs and collection of records.

Curators of the exhibition, including members of Amy's family, hope that it will show a different side to the singer other than the tragic images of drug and alcohol excesses which are already well-known and documented by the media.

As well as personal memorabilia, the unknown side of the British singer, who died in 2011 from alcohol poisoning, will be shown through legendary outfits from her performances and objects from her home in Camden, making Amy's passion for music, fashion, her city of London tangible for visitors - but also along with her heritage of Jewish tradition.
