Father and son battle over vintage cars

Christian H., 36, lives in the fancy Belsize Park area of London and, with nine Stratos cars to his name, he is known as one of the world's leading Stratos collectors.

It was four Lancia Stratos rally cars that are the subject of the argument between Christian and his father Ernst and the son borrowed the four vehicles from his father for an exhibition in a car museum in Berlin in May 2011.

It was when he failed to hand them back to Ernst that their relationship took a turn for the worse. By January 2012, it had turned so bad that Christian text his father saying the he would return the cars as long as they "never saw each other again".

Following this, when the cars were still not returned Ernst filed a court order against his son, demanding that he either returns the cars undamaged or opts for the alternative of paying 3 million EUR in damages.

Christian has worked for several flashy car companies, including Porsche where he started out in 1997, as well as Audi, Volkswagen, Lancia, and BMW as well as running his own auto design consultancy until it went bust in 2011.
