Free plants and seedlings exchange in Vienna

Green fingered garden growers will have the chance to exchange their plants and seedlings for some new varieties in a plant swap fair taking place in Vienna at the end of April.

Visitors to the plant exchange market can swap their cactus for exotic tomato seedlings, or their basil plant for geraniums and pansies for palms as well as get a chance to talk to experts on how to ensure your plants thrive. For those who do not have any plants they are able to swap, they are invited to make a donation to the seller instead.

The exchange is taking place over three days with each day the market appearing in three different districts. On Thursday April 24 from 15-20 clock the market can be found in the forecourt of Pfeilheim in the 8th district. On Friday April 25 from 14-18 clock it is on Aumannplatz in the 18th district and on Saturday April 26 between 8.30 - 13.30 clock in Dornerplatz in 17th district.

It is the seventh time the The Plant Exchange on Dornerplatz has taken place and as well as plants, visitors can also pick up some free compost for the garden or balcony and children can come along and check out the puppet show "Crank".
