Since 2009, the Vienna Awards for Fashion and Lifestyle has played a big role in the Austrian fashion scene and has evolved itself into one of the country's most important events in the industry to date. The Award show has made its extravagant reappearance every year, and can no longer go without being double circled and underlined in every fashion and media conscious Viennese's calendar.
International guest stars such as Italian designer Tomaso Trussardi, as well as British star-designer Valerie Campbell and this year’s style icon supermodel Coco Rocha, who was named as one of Vogue magazines 50 most important models of our young millennium, will all mix and mingle together with Austria’s biggest names in fashion, in one glamorous night full of celebration and style.
The goal of the Vienna awards is to offer Austrian fashion professionals and creative minds a chance to present themselves and their creations, getting the word out about the best of Austria’s fashion talents. This is where the nominations come into place, with the stage open to only those designers and fashion experts with the potential of going international.
Some of the nominations that are awarded every year include: Accessory Designer of the year, Make-up Artist of the year, Fashion Editor of the year, Photographer of the year, Model of the year, and amongst the more important and most anticipated ones is of course: Fashion Designer of the Year, for which the nominees this year are Eva Poleschinski, Marina Hoermanseder and GON.
The awards are a link between the small Austrian fashion scene and the international fashion scene, allowing creative winners to have a better shot at achieving success and international recognition for their work.
The 6th annual Vienna Awards for Fashion and Lifestyle is being held next week on Thursday, April 24th at 7pm. For further information about the show visit their Facebook page. www.facebook.com/ViennaAwards.
