She fearsome as her character Elle in Kill Bill but actress Daryl Hannah had a scary moment when she was flying into Austria on Sunday evening when her private plan had to make an emergency landing.
The American actress who has also starred in Blade Runner and Splash was reportedly "breathless" during the event, which happened when she was on her way to visit a solar energy plant in Austria.
Hannah and other guests including Austrian entrepreneur Martin Kristek were flying at 10,000 metres when the alarm sounded because pressure suddenly dropped in the cabin. It is understood that ice in the doors of the jet may have caused the sudden drop in pressure, which automatically caused oxygen masks to drop from the ceiling.
"I'm already scared enough of flying, when suddenly the oxygen masks appeared. Luckily nothing happened," Hannah said about the event.
The pilot then made an emergency landing in Klagenfurt airport.
The visit to Austria was part of Hannah's work as an environmental campaigner - the star has her own weekly video blog called DHLoveLife where she discusses sustainable solutions. Her home also runs on solar power and is built with green materials.
