Prize for the oddest fact about Vienna

A competition has been launched to find the oddest and most pointless facts about Vienna, with the best entry winning a trip to the city.

The prize was launched by the Vienna Tourist Board who want to show the world that there is more to Vienna than just scnitzel, apple strudel and imperial architecture. They are looking for the lesser-known titbits about the city, the weird and wonderful trivia.

Facts can be submitted either by the funfacts.vienna.info website or on social media, using the hashtag #ViennaFunFacts until the end of August later this year.

The most outlandish will win a trip to Vienna in the autumn and the chance to appear in a fun fact video.

The jury also invite people to submit incorrect ViennaFunFacts - it is down to their peers to work out if they're true or not. Other creative winners will receive smaller prizes such as books and tokens of the city.
