Two young people are thought to be responsible for the killing of an dachshund belonging to a grandfather in March this year, after a tip off alerted the OAP that his granddaughter might be involved.
It is thought that one of the two teenage suspects is the grand-daughter of the owner of the 30-month-old dog, which was found in a ditch near the house after having been killed by an axe one night.
The incident happened in the house of the grandfather in Weiz, a town in Styria when four young people aged 16 to 18-years-old were staying over at his home. It is thought that after visiting a nightclub, the teenagers were sleeping in the house when the 18-year-old woke up and kicked the young dachshund. After which, two of the young people killed the animal with a hand axe.
The dog was found in a ditch two days later but the grand-father had not suspected the young people of killing his dog and therefore had not reported them.
It was only after the OAP was tipped off about the true perpetrators that he reported them and they were questioned as suspects and at a hearing they partly confessed to the crime but gave no motive for it.
