Three burglars who had targeted an older lady's home in Austria were in for a shock after they came up against her neighbour - who just happened to have a black belt in the martial art Taekwondo.
Thirty-nine-year-old mum Alexandra P. spotted three Slovaks trying to break into the home belonging her neighbour Christine D., 71, when she was taking the rubbish out.
The mum spoke to the trio of burglars, before grabbing one of them, and then with a quick martial art movement put him out of action on the floor. Whilst his two friends were still in shock, she then rushed back in to her apartment and called the police.
A patrol car arrived at the home in Hainburg in Lower Austria within 90 seconds and were able to nab the burglars before they took off in their Ford Escort getaway car.
A search of the car revealed weapons and burglary tools belonging to the trio.
OAP neighbour Christine had been out shopping in Hungary at the time at the time of the attempted burglary. On her return, she gave her courageous neighbour a hug and said: "Thank you, Alexandra, you're so brave. Otherwise my apartment would be empty now."
