Actor grandson of Karl-Heinz Böhm arrested for fraud

Florian Böhm, the oldest grandson of Karl-Heinz Böhm has been arrested in Austria over a fraud allegation.

The actor and star of the ARD soap series "Sturm der Liebe" is accused of fraud after a company claimed it lent him a substantial amount of money which he never replied.

The actor who started acting at the age of eight in the series "Die Löwengrube" and became famous with his appearance in the ARD soap was arrested in Austria over the allegations made by an Austrian businessman.

He wants the actor, who starred in the soap between between 2005 and 2007, to repay 79,000 EUR plus interest which he claims he lent him in 2008.

He said the money was never replied and added: "He told me he needed the money for a film project."

The businessman said he had lent the money because "the Böhm family has a good name in Austria".

Böhm is apparently currently being held in the Munich Stadelheim jail.

The news follows the death of actor Karl-Heinz Böhm, Florian's grand-father who passed away in his home in Grödig on Thursday aged 86.
