Matt Damon stars in Steven Soderbergh’s THE INFORMANT!

What's on at the Burgkino this weekend?

By Thomas Hochwarter

A spy thriller comedy and a horror movie head the bill at Vienna’s Burgkino – where all films are shown in their original English versions – this weekend.

Matt Damon stars in Steven Soderbergh’s THE INFORMANT!, while Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat play the lead characters in PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, a horror film from 2007 which has only now gone on major release. Critics have compared the film – which was met with generally good reviews and fascinated audiences – with "The Blair Witch Project" (1999).

COCO AVANT CHANEL by Anne Fontaine and Quentin Tarantino’s INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS – starring Brad Pitt and Austrian Christoph Waltz – are still on at the Burgkino.

The cinema’s bill for the weekend and next week is completed by Michael Jackson-themed THIS IS IT, 3D comedy UP, 1949 espionage classic THE THIRD MAN, and JULIE & JULIA starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.

And on Monday, 10.30am, the Burgkino will host a one-off screening of the original Spanish version of Walter Salles’ THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES from 2004, recounting the adventures of a young Che Guevera.

The Burgkino is located at Opernring 19 in Vienna’s city centre. See www.burgkino.at or call +43 1 587 84 06 for starting times.
