Veteran Viennese playboy Richard Lugner is to bring Victoria Beckham to Vienna for an autograph session as a sixteenth birthday present for his daughter, it emerged last night (Sun).
Lugner confirmed he had booked the 35-year-old former Spice Girl to sign autographs at his shopping centre, Lugner City, on 10 December.
Asked whether weekend newspaper reports were true, the 77-year-old said yesterday: "Yes, it’s correct. I actually shouldn’t say anything about it before Monday as she could cancel the contract."
Lugner admitted an employee of his office had accidentally put the news on the shopping centre’s website.
The entrepreneur said Beckham would sign autographs from 3pm on 10 December, adding she had a "tough schedule for Vienna".
Lugner refused to reveal what else football star David Beckham’s wife would be up to in the capital, but said no further activities with himself were planned. Lugner added Posh Spice was due to attend an event in VIP Tyrolean ski resort Ischgl the next day.
He also explained the autograph signing had been arranged to coincide with his daughter’s birthday.
"Jacqueline turns 16 on 12 December and she’s a massive Victoria Beckham fan," he said.
Lugner has made an international name for himself over the years by inviting superstars like Grace Jones and Pamela Anderson to attend the Vienna Opera Ball with him.
He rubbished claims the Beckham autograph deal was a bid to distract attention from a possibly less than spectacular guest for next year’s Opera Ball.
"I don’t compare my guests among each other," he said.
Lugner, 77 – who was married four times – recently split from Nina Bruckner, 27, after just a few weeks in a relationship.
He had met Bruckner during shootings for his own reality TV show showing his daily life.
The relationship ended when Lugner failed to deal with young men constantly flirting with Bruckner.
