Arnold Schwarzenegger shocked his pals when he made a top secret visit to his homeland.

Arnie was back - for short visit to homeland

By Thomas Hochwarter

Former action movie hero Arnold Schwarzenegger shocked his pals when he made a top secret visit to his homeland.

The Californian Governor arrived at Graz airport yesterday morning (Tues) as he flew back from Baghdad where he had been visiting the American troops.

And the 62-year-old immediately called old pals.

"He called me and asked whether I could meet him after he landed in Graz. He always does it that way," Peter Urdl – one of the former bodybuilding champion’s best friends – said.

Schwarzenegger was then chauffeured to Weiz to visit the grave of his mother Aurelia before booking into Hotel Wiesler in Graz where he met deputy Styrian governor Hermann Schützenhöfer of the People’s Party (ÖVP).

The "Terminator" star reportedly ate Wiener Schnitzel, potato salad, apple strudel and Styrian wine – the same menu he ordered during his last visit to Austria in  March when he jetted into Graz for a short stay after opening Hanover’s "CeBIT" computer fair.

Schwarzenegger – whose second and last term as Governor of California ends next year – visited his old hometown Thal this morning where his boyhood home is currently being turned into a museum before he left Austria again at 11am.

Schwarzenegger is expected to attend the museum’s opening in June 2010.
