British TV starlet Katie Price will attend this year’s Opera Ball, according to reports.
Austrian entrepreneurial couple Irene and Alexander Mayer said today (Thurs) they had invited the former "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" contender.
"That’s correct, she will come to this year’s Opera Ball," their PR agency said in a statement.
Price was rumoured to be attending the ball together with veteran Viennese playboy Richard Lugner. But the 77-year-old earlier this month said he had de-invited the 31-year-old.
Lugner – who has previously invited stars such as Sophia Loren and Grace Jones to the world famous event set to take place on 11 February – claimed Price had breached an agreement to keep quiet about the invitation until 20 January after newspaper Österreich had reported 10 days earlier that she would be at his side at the ball.
Lugner has meanwhile announced that "Herbie: Fully Loaded" star Lindsay Lohan will be at his side at next month’s Opera Ball. The shopping-centre manager hit out at the Austrian media after newspapers branded the 23-year-old a "fallen Disney princess".
"She got on the wrong track at some stage, but she achieved many things too," Lugner – who was married four times – said about the bisexual actress.
The Mayers said today they had met Katie Price at various charity events, including a gala for Elton John’s Aids Foundation.
"I’ve heard a lot about what is probably the most-important ball in Europe. I’m looking forward to dancing the Viennese Waltz with my friends and getting to know Austria.
"I’m an ambitious dressage rider and can’t wait to see the Lipizzaner at Vienna’s Spanish Riding School," Price was quoted as saying in a statement issued by Irene and Alexander Mayer today.
