'Jewish Portraits' on display in Graz
Pictures of native German speaking Jewish personalities who escaped the Holocaust by German photographer Herlinde Koelbl are on show in Graz from today (Weds).
The exhibit called "Jüdische Portraits" (Jewish Portraits), which will be on at the Stadtmuseum until 14 November, features photographs of late Austrian Chancellor Bruno Kreisky and Vienna-born philosopher Sir Karl Popper.
Koelbl, who traveled the world to take the pictures, said the conversations she had had with the people she had photographed meant even more to her than the images. Protocols of these conversations are featured in the exhibition’s catalogue.
