A new comedy film starring George Clooney is heading the bill at Vienna’s Burgkino – where all films are shown in their original English version – this weekend.
UP IN THE AIR, directed by Jason Reitman, lost out at the Academy Awards despite being nominated in six categories.
INVICTUS, a sports drama starring Matt Damon as captain of the South African rugby national team and Morgan Freeman as former South African President Nelson Mandela, is also on at the Burgkino.
Damon, Freeman and Clint Eastwood – who directed the film – said Nelson Mandela was the "most impressive personality" they had ever met.
Romantic comedy IT'S COMPLICATED features Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin in the leading roles. Streep was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role but failed to win the award. Baldwin teamed up with Steve Martin to host Sunday’s Academy Awards.
The Burgkino’s bill is completed by Guy Ritchie’s SHERLOCK HOLMES, World War II satire INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, comedy WHATEVER WORKS and espionage classic THE THIRD MAN.
The Burgkino cinema is located at Opernring 19 in Vienna’s city centre.
