Le Carré novel hits the big screen

A new espionage film is now on at the Burgkino Vienna where all movies are screened in their original versions.

"Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" was directed by Swedish filmmaker Tomas Alfredson ("Let the Right One In"). Gary Oldman ("Air Force One") and "A Single Man" star Colin Firth excel in leading roles in the acclaimed film. John le Carré’s spy novel the film is based on was published in 1974. The Times ranked le Carré 22nd on its list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945".

Alexander Payne’s "The Descendants" – which made the top 10 lists for the best movies of 2011 of the Washington Post, the San Francisco Chronicle and other newspapers – will also be on at the Burgkino (www.burgkino.at) tomorrow (Thurs).

"Intouchables" and "Empire Me", a documentary by Paul Poet, will complete the programme of the cinema which is located at Opernring 19 in the heart of Vienna. Visit www.burgkino.at for starting times.
