Reinhard Gerer's Teatro goes bankrupt

Reinhard Gerers 'Teatro' show goes bust

By Samantha Mitchell,

The cooking and cabaret show "Tetro" at Reinhard Gerers Gourmet theatre has filed for bankruptcy after losing money through lower than expected ticket sales.

The show from celebrity chef Reinhard Gerers, which combined high quality dinner service with theatrics and entertainment, had hoped to get more people through the door over the Christmas period but interest in the show had waned.

The possibility of bankruptcy was in sight towards the end of last year and has now been confirmed by a spokesman for the company.

Twenty-seven employees and more than 250 creditors are thought to be affected by the change, including suppliers. Claims from creditors can be made up to 20th March.

This season has been shortened as a result of the bankruptcy although ticket holders will be able to redeem their tickets by the end January.
