Transcendence: A 2014 science fiction mystery thriller film that marks the directorial debut of long-time cinematographer Wally Pfister. The film stars Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, and Morgan Freeman. Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas serve as executive producers of the film. Johnny Depp portrays Dr. Will Caster, an artificial intelligence researcher who strives to create a machine that possesses sentience and collective intelligence. When Carter is close to death, because of an attempted assassination, his wife Evelyn, played by Rebecca Hall, downloads his mind into a computer trying to save his life. Although Caster's goal to acquire knowledge becomes one to acquire power, and he seems to be unstoppable.

The Grand Budapest Hotel: A comedy-drama film written and directed by Wes Anderson and inspired by the writings of Stefan Zweig. The film follows the adventures of Gustave H. (Ralph Fiennes), a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and his lobby boy Zero Moustafa (Tony Revolori), who becomes his most trusted friend. The two team to prove his innocence after he is framed for murder. The cast also includes Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Saoirse Ronan, Edward Norton, and William Dafoe.

Her: A science fiction romantic comedy-drama film written, directed, and produced by Spike Jonze (Where the Wild Things Are - 2009). The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, and Scarlett Johansson as the voice of Samantha. The film centers on a man who develops a relationship with an intelligent computer operating system (OS) with a female voice and personality. It marks Jonze's solo screenwriting debut. The film was under fire, when Scarlett Johansson won numerous awards in Best Supporting Actress categories, because we don't see the actress actually playing in the film.

A Long Way Down: A 2014 British dark comedy film directed by Pascal Chaumeil, loosely based on author Nick Hornby's 2005 novel, A Long Way Down. It stars Imogen Poots, Toni Collette, Pierce Brosnan, and Aaron Paul as four strangers who happen to meet on the roof of a London building on New Year's Eve, each with the intent of committing suicide. Their plans for death in solitude are ruined when they meet as they decide to come down from the roof alive — however temporary that may be.

Everyday Rebellion: A documentary & cross-media project about the creativity of non-violent resistance and modern forms of civil disobedience. The Riahi Brothers have written and directed the 110 minutes long documentary, which was produced by Arash T. Riahi, Michael Seeber, Sabine Gruber, Susanne Guggenberger, Hercli Bundi.

Nymphomaniac (Volume II): The second part of the two-part Danish drama film written and directed by Lars von Trier. The film stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Stacy Martin, Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Jamie Bell, Uma Thurman, and Willem Dafoe. The world premiere of the first part of the five-and-half-hour-long uncut version premiered on February 16, 2014 at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival. "Nymphomaniac" is the third and final entry in von Trier's "Depression Trilogy", having been preceded by "Antichrist" and "Melancholia". It follows a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, who recounts her erotic experiences to the man who saved her after a beating, and takes her into his home. As he tends to her wounds, she recounts the erotic story of her adolescence and young-adulthood.

The Third Man: A 1949 British film noir, directed by Carol Reed and starring Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli, Orson Welles, and Trevor Howard. It is particularly remembered for its atmospheric cinematography, performances, and musical score, and it is considered one of the greatest films of all time. The screenplay was written by novelist Graham Greene, who subsequently published the novella of the same name. Pulp novelist Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten) travels to shadowy, postwar Vienna, only to find himself investigating the mysterious death of an old friend, black-market opportunist Harry Lime (Orson Welles).
