Jimmy Cliff and Natalie Cole at Jazz festival

Vienna's eclectic Jazz Festival is once again just around the corner with this year's programme including performances from Natalie Cole, Al Jarreau, Sinead O'Connor and Jimmy Cliff.

The festival takes place next month at dozens of venues around the city , including an open air concerts organised by Wien Energie. Running from June 26 to July 8, the festival offers not just jazz but also funk, reggae, and blues events,

Vienna's classic jazz venues, including Porgy and Bess, Jazzland, and Miles Smiles, are all hosting musicians and bands throughout the festival. At the upper end of the scale, and perhaps the pricier, the Vienna State Opera is putting on a new show by .

Prices range from just a couple of euros to for Wien Energie's open air concert on 5 July featuring Jimmy Cliff and Brazilian singer Célia Mara to the more pricier Vienna State Opera events. The renowned opera house venue is putting on shows from vocalist Al Jarreau as well as Natalie Cole, daughter of Nat King Cole, and Sinead O'Connor.

Concerts with free admission include those from Icelandic pianist Arni Karlsson and the Slovakian guitarist Andreas Varady, who are both performing at the Arkadenhof of the Vienna City Hall on July 6. Three free concerts will also be held at Rathausplatz on July 6 and on the Summerstage on June 27.
