The Schladming ski resort in Styria will host the Ski World Cup Men’s Night Slalom tonight (Tuesday).
The Planai mountain in Schladming in the Liezen district is a well known ski region and has a ski world cup slope that has been prepared for the event.
Over 30,000 tickets have been sold in advance, the race is expected to attract around 50,000 spectators. Sufficient tickets have been reserved for the race evening.
Ski fans will have the opportunity to enjoy an eventful programme featuring three stages with video walls and food stands.
Organiser Christoph Buchegger said: "I think we can guarantee a superb atmosphere at the biggest party in the Alps!"
Guests of honour and celebs in attendance will include the Austrian president Heinz Fischer, chancellor Werner Faymann and vice-chancellor Josef Pröll, German actress Barbara Wussow, TV host Vera Russwurm, actor Rudi Roubinek alias "Seifenstein", Formula One racing driver Christian Klien, football player Mark Janko and retired football player Toni Polster.
